Yet, as Eri comes to spend more time with him, she comes to realize that Lance has a completely different side to him, but with a deep seated fear of being replaced that steams from his original concept.ĭue to being Eri’s first doll, a lot of her personal issues within the route steam from her trying to overcome her grandfather’s passing.
Due to reasons, Lance seems to have a lot of problems with Red (and rather strained relationships with the others) and he always trying to keep Eri on the straight and narrow. After turning into a human, Lance is shown to be rather distance compared to the rest of the dolls and has an icy attitude that gives him the title “Ice Prince” at their school. Lance is Eri’s first CROMBI doll and comes from a line that is targeted to be anything their owner wants them to be, and specifically made for first time doll collectors. (I am going to talk about the routes in the following order: Lance –> Yeonho –> Yuri –> Tei –> Red.) In each route, Eri is able to change a bit and is more open about her emotions and come to terms with a certain aspect of her, though because of the never-ending loop that is the game, she has to go through this process over and over again. However, this slowly changes as the player moves forward within Nameless, which each route completed Eri is able to accept a new part of herself that corresponds with the bachelor she has chosen. It seems that there are a lot of things that Eri is scared to let go off, while not learning to accept certain parts of herself. Yet, she is a sweet girl that cares about everyone in her life, while having a quirky point of view when it comes to things that make her inner monologues very funny to read through. Due to her childhood, she isn’t very attached to people and keeps her real hobbies to herself in fear that she will be rejected by her current friends, Soi and Shinbi. This gives her stagnant view of life that she doesn’t seem to want to pull out of. Eri seems to be stuck between a crossroads of wanting to stay the way she is and wanting to move forward. She is still strongly connected to her grandfather’s memory and while she does seem to love her parents, their jobs overseas and how they view her attachments to certain things causes a strain whenever they talk or met. In the beginning, the player sees Eri as a rather lonely and shy high school girl that has a strong attachment to her ball joint dolls. However, the player first needs to understand the type of person Eri is in the beginning of the game. The first three routes, but particularly Lance’s and what he deals with, sets up the foundation for what the later routes bring in. The game has this structure in place because each doll represents something that Eri has to accept/regain about herself, with Red’s own piece being the final culmination of everything – of Eri truly accepting the person that she is. Personally, this was the first otome game that I played that had such a structure and though it was confusing, after completing the game I understood why it needed to be done in such a way. The player has completed all the other routes before unlocking the final route, which is Red’s and after all the routes are said and done, the player is able to get the secret ending.
The player can start off with romancing three of the dolls Eri owns: Lance, Yeonho, and Yuri. The game has an interesting structure with how the player goes through each route.

In this write-up, I’ll be addressing the structure of the game, the characters along with their story lines, their connections, and the true ending of the game.Ī Dairy Full of Memories: The Structure of Nameless Going through it without remembering much, allowed me to enjoy the bits that I did remember and enjoy the scenes that I had not seen before. Since Cheritz moved the game to Steam, I decided to replay the game from the beginning and finally complete Tei, Red, and ?’s routes, bad endings and all that. I finished Nameless and I wanted to do a quick write-up on what I thought about the game. **Please note that this will not be a spoiler-free reflection. This will mainly be centered on the storylines, the characters, some their dynamics with others, and the mysteries within the game. I finally completed Nameless (after 2 years!) and decided to write my overall thoughts of the game. Yet one day, Eri wakes up to see all her dolls have comes to life and something might be completely amiss as well… However, she is very keen and cares deeply about her ball-jointed dolls, though she cannot tell anyone about her hobby. With her parents working overseas, she is left completely alone in her grandfather’s house after his death. Eri is an ordinary freshman attending Crobi Academy.
